Saint-François, Guadeloupe
On the eastern tip of Grande-Terre: a lagoon, an international golf course and a marina, about 45 minutes from the airport.
The territory
Saint-François occupies the eastern tip of Grande-Terre, facing La Désirade and the Petite-Terre islets, classified as a national nature reserve. The municipality combines a lagoon sheltered by the coral reef, south coast beaches, an 18-hole golf course and a marina. Buildable land is regulated by the local urban plan and the protections around Pointe des Châteaux.
The lagoon
Protected by the reef, the lagoon offers a calm body of water, used for swimming, sailing, paddleboarding and kitesurfing. From the Belles Rives plateau, several villas have a direct view of the lagoon and the sea.
The golf course
The Saint-François international golf course, 18 holes, was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1978. The course, lined with coconut palms and water features, stretches between the marina and the airfield; it is open year-round.

The marina
The Saint-François marina, in the heart of the town, welcomes sailing boats and catamarans on recently renovated pontoons. It has a technical area, a fuel station and a slipway. Maritime links to La Désirade depart from Saint-François.
